Discovering camping life in Romania

Wild camping is the norm in Romania. We were lucky to find a beautiful private spot at lake Trei Ape
And good place for checking under the bonnet
Precious cargo
Lunch with Serbia on the other side of Donau river in Orsova
At Camping Hercules
Hercules at Camping Hercules
Hercules at Baile Herculane, passing the statue of Hercules
On to hours of driving on a low quality road, mostly gravel
Where it is the privilege of Defenders to overtake other cars!
Drove around this lake
It’s gonna be a bumpy ride
Back to civilisation
Wild camping near a monastery in a forrest with huge trees and a monk looking after us
Camping ground in the forrest of bears
From there we entered the Fagaras mountain pass
Touristy experience
Big box of chanterelles bought along the road (unfortunately most of it full of maggots)
Down again, towards Transylvania
Tried to take this small ferry, but too little water, so Hercules would have grounded it
Really nice, new, clean campsite in Bran, near Dracula’s castle: Heaven camping resort. Wonderful place!
